Christmas in Franciscan Boys Home in Bethlehem

Each year, the Franciscan Boys Home family comes together to celebrate Christmas with the boys in our care. This year, on December 21st, we had the privilege of welcoming Father Ibrahim Faltas, Vicar of the Custody of the Holy Land, and Father Peter Vasko from the Franciscan Foundation of the Holy Land. It was a special occasion as our boys received Christmas gifts, and we shared the joy of the season together.

In his homily, Father Ibrahim spoke about the true meaning of Christmas and the powerful message of hope that the birth of Christ brings to the world. Our boys are deeply grateful for the home they have and the food on their table, and we feel especially blessed to live just next door to the Grotto where Christ was born. May His spirit be alive in our hearts every day, not just at Christmas.

We want to express our heartfelt thanks to the Franciscan Foundation for the Holy Land, the Custody of the Holy Land, and all the generous donors who continue to support us year after year. Without your help, it would be impossible for us to provide a loving home for these boys and live together as a family.

We’re also incredibly grateful to the many volunteers and organizations who’ve made this season even brighter:

  • Aviva Lund & Katie Lundstrom
  • The Croatian Embassy
  • Sister Ines from the sisters of Saint Claire
  • The families from Portugal who brought us an amazing online concert
  • Sustainable Engineering Solutions Company
  • Palestinian Bible Society
  • Mr. Eli Bajali
  • Dar Al Majoos
  • Animal and Environment Association
  • Dutch Friends Volunteers
  • PwC Ramallah
  • Anita Plazibat from Croatia

From all of us here at the Franciscan Boys Home, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a season filled with peace and joy.
