Last Thursday, 10th of February on the memory of croatian blessed cardinal Alojzije Stepinac, Custos of the Holy Land father Francesco Patton visited our house in the occasion of the opening of the new kitchen and the laundry room. We were honored with the visit as well of father Marwan Daides, previous director of our house and father Ibrahim Faltas, director of the school of Terra Santa and father Enrique Segovia, guardian of the convent of the Nativity in Bethlehem as well with the director of the Pontifical Mission Joseph Hazboun and the rapresentatives of the Pro Terra Santa Muna Salman and Naila Nasser and with our Custos as the rappresentative of the Foundation for the Holy Land and with all the engineers working on this 2 projects, especially Khalil Hanania. We are thanking all the people that helped these 2 projects, especially all the institutions mentioned previously as well of 2 parishes in Italy, Costa Serina and Trento who also participated in this project.

We are thankful to all our donors who made this projects possible wishing our boys to live in decent environment respecting all the health criteria.

The family of the Franciscan Boys Home in Bethlehem celebrated Christmas in a special way by holding a festive mass which was presided over by Father Francesco Patton in the Franciscan Sisters Church. Moreover, there was a clown performance in which the children were given gifts. Father Sandro, who is the director of the home, thanked firstly father Francesco Patton and father Peter Vasko from the Franciscan Foundation for all the help during the year and the supporters and the workers of the Franciscan Boys Home. Merry Christmas!

The Catholic Council of Churches in Jerusalem organized an awareness lecture on violence in society, and the development of the appropriate strategy to limit its spread. This special lecture was presented by Professor Rafiq Saeed to the staff of the Franciscan Child Home in Bethlehem. This program will be completed in the coming days. Father Sandro, who is the director of the home, presented Professor Rafiq Saeed with a shield as a sign of thanks and appreciation.

The family of the Franciscan Boys Home in Bethlehem, hosted a group of volunteer students, as part of the “Draw a Smile” activity, which was organized by professor Mary Qumsieh, who is the Deanship of Student Affairs at Bethlehem University, as the occasion of the glorious Christmas holidays. Father Sandro, thanked all those who contributed to the success of this wonderful visit, which is one of a series of other visits of social institutions.

On a distinguished initiative of the family Club of the Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth, represented by the parish priest, Father Marwan Daads, visited the Franciscan Boys Home in Bethlehem. On lighting the first candle of Advent, the family of the Franciscan Boys Home in Bethlehem and the family Club of the Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth took a special meal together. Father Marwan Dadis, who was the first director of the Franciscan Boys Home in Bethlehem in 2007 and who was the principle of the home for 15 years, was welcomed warmly espiecially by the children and all the people he was working with here in Bethlehem.
Moreover, Father Sandro, who is the director of the home, thanked him and all the guests from Nazareth for this special visit and presented them Appreciation Shields of out Home.

Br. Julio César Bunader, who is visitator of our Custody, visited our homeNovember 19th, 2021 our Home and met also our boys together with the sisters from this house along with the people serving in this house. He was really impressed with our mission and stated that was one of the most important activites that franciscans have in the town where Jesus was born, Bethlehem. We wish to brother Julio peace and good in his mission and wish to express our gratitude for visiting our home.

The family of the Franciscan Boys Home in Bethlehem organized a series of new and special activities targeting the children of the house on one hand, and their families on the other hand.
The family of the Franciscan Boys Home hosted the pastoral council of the parish of St. Catherine’s Church in Bethlehem, headed by the parish priest, Father Rami Asakrieh, and his assistant, Father Antonios wit. They had a special dinner together as one family with the blessing of the priests. Father Sandro, who is the director of the Franciscan Boys Home, expressed his thanks and appreciation for their wonderful and sincere efforts.
On the other hand, the family of the Franciscan Boys Home hosted the social worker Vivian Sabbara who presented entertaining and educational activities for the children in a wonderful way.
Moreover, the guiding course for children’s parents was launched to find a common language between the children and their parents. The course will be continued in the coming weeks as a series of meetings.

The family of the Franciscan Boys Home in Bethlehem, under the patronage of Father Sandro, who is the director of the house, concluded the first phase of the Summer Camp 2021, which included many activities such as, evangelical meditations, educational field visits, visiting holy places, visiting social institutions , doing volunteer work, recreational trips, swimming, sports games and competitions, watching educational films, and many other activities that worked on developing knowledge and building personality. It is worth noting that the second phase of the Summer Camp 2021 starts on 21.6.2021 until the 2.7.2021 at the Catholic Action in Bethlehem. Many thanks to everyone who helped and participated at the Summer Camp 2021.

Father Sandro, the director of the Franciscan Boys House in Bethlehem, has honored the graduate student Iskandar Salame, who was one of the sons of our home, on the occasion of obtaining a bachelor degree in Theology from an Italian University. In addition to, Farid Al-Ali has been congratulated for his Tawjihi graduation by Father Sandro. Moreover, father Sandro has thanked and appreciated professor Jeries Ghoneim who has resigned from his work at the home of the Franciscan child . He has worked for four years.
